field hockey

Its been YEARS since I've played any kind of field hockey. I gave it up after grade ten and never really tried to get back into it. Till this year. I'm playing again. LOVE IT. I sucked bad last week, but this week its coming back to me. Its a lot of running and pretty challenging, but its been fun!


Below is a map of the field. The 1/2 circles are the striking circles or pitching wedges...you hear get called different names. You have to be within in that area to score or no goal. I'm hoping its a fun year! I'm so happy that my girlfriend Ros decided to join me this year! We can suck wind together Ros ;) LOL Actually we're both doing fine! I'll keep you posted on how it goes!!!

2006...

I just realized that I have been blogging since April 20th 2006!!!! Crazy how time flies.  I read through different parts of my blog this morning.  I use to be a good blogger ;) Lately not as much. I find its easier to be on facebook or twitter to communicate with my friends, BUT I realized how much I enjoy looking back and reading this blog.  See what was going on in my life a year ago or longer!!!

Today Tim is out all day.  I think the boys and I are just going to mellow out and enjoy watching some sports :)  We might take a chapters trip later on, we'll see.  We had a major storm rip through here yesterday. Scary. We lost power for a long time too. Trees are still down all over the place. 

I'm loving lazy sundays....

What a crazy weekend. Ball hockey started, baseball tryouts started, hockey banquet today! Oh and Scrapfest this past friday! Crazy!

Right now at 5pm is my first...ahhhh moment all weekend! I think I need a bevy ;) Really. LOL I just helped out for the kids hockey banquet. 250 kids and their parents is enough to drive anyone to drink.


I am just sitting down to edit some pictures and found this one that made me HOWL. Ben playing with my camera. LOL He sort of took a picture of Alex ;)

A while back we had a son vs dads hockey game to end our season!

Pretty funny stuff. Our dads actually all (well almost all) still play hockey, so they're pretty good and pretty darn competitive! LOL

Good friday recap...

After church on friday we decided to pack up and head down to Crawford Lake Conservation area!

We packed some snacks and water and decided that we would walk through the Indian village that was on site and take the board walk trail around Crawford Lake. Its a 'kettle' lake so it was a neat learning experience for the kids. Easy trail since its a board walk. Neither of the boys really care to go on hikes. The entire time Alex kept wondering why we didn't bring a soccer ball to play with or our ball gloves. ANYTHING but just walking! LOL

The did enjoy the village though. It was a great day to just wonder around the village learning about life in the Longhouse and the tribes. What a beautiful day to go for a drive too! I love lazy days like that! :)

One year...

Friday marked one year of Val being gone.  It was a hard day to get through.  I decided to go scrapbooking with some girlfriends and I didn't mention to them what today was.  Ladies thank you for making my day a little brighter.
